About The Internship

Purpose

The purpose of the Summer Intern Program is to provide an opportunity for college-age students and student-athletes to work with FCA Staff as they consider what it would look like to serve the Lord through a career in coaching or on staff with FCA.

Job Description


The Summer Intern position is a paid position with a minimum of 30 hours per week. Interns will begin mid-May and be finished for the summer in late July. There is some preparatory work required ahead of your official start date. To learn more about specifics of your role as an intern, navigate through the modules below.


What To Expect

As an intern for FCA, college students will experience the following:

Training on FCA Mission and Vision

Learn about the WHY of FCA. Learn its history, what they stand for, and experience living out the mission throughout the internship.

Learn what it means to be and how to be a Coach for Christ through many aspects of the internship.

Learn and experience what the role of FCA Staff looks like and the importance of the relationship of FCA Staff and Coaches for Christ in the community.

Weekly Bible Studies

Weekly Bible studies are a normal rhythm in the internship. Take a look at some examples of the studies you may go through.

A large part of being on staff with FCA is being able to raise money to support your position. Summer Interns are required to do the same.

FCA holds a number of camps for athletes during the summer. As an intern, you have an opportunity to serve and lead at camps.

Scripture Memory

A part of the internship includes memorizing scripture. All interns memorize Romans Road, and are encouraged to work on other passages or verses of choice.

Schedule Conflicts:


The FCA Summer Intern Schedule is not optional. However, if during the interview process, interns notify FCA staff of potential conflicts then a reasonable amount of time away for other commitments will be considered and in a lot of cases accommodated. If dates come up during the summer that interns are unavailable, they should notify FCA staff in advance. 2 vacation days, 2 personal days, and 2 sick days will be available for interns to use throughout the summer.
